Ron Sexsmith Tribute

14. June 2011 • Category: MUSIC • Comments: 0

I’m in the house band for The Canadian Songbook Ron Sexsmith show at Massey Hall, Wed June 15 @ 7:30. It’s part of Luminato. The band is basically Ron’s – but with Don Kerr and Blake Manning on drums, ┬áplus musical director Kevin Hearn and myself. Lots of guests doing a song each, including Tomi Swick, Holly Cole, Kevin Drew from Broken Social Scene and the eternal Andy Kim, plus a few from Ron himself.

New Series for Space TV

Recently completed scoring a 6 part TV series called Fanboy Confessional. Directed by Michael McNamara of Markham Street Pictures, the show looks at the fringe cultures of costume play, furries, real life super heroes, line action role play, and steam punks. Toronto surf garage band The von Drats did the theme song, and I kept the twang & whammy bar central to as many cues as I could. Fun show, fun score.
